The DUP's recent existence at the University of Ulster has proven that inclusive Unionist political representation is possible at the university. Our existence helps to engage young people by lifting them out of apathy, and encourage participation, which will inturn improve the quality of our democracy. The vision of our presence at the University is to deliver representation for Unionists on the issues they need adressing across the campuses, engaging the scope for political debate at the University, instead of ignoring its existence. Something which has become part and parcel of University life.
We encourage all prospective students who begin their University life this September to join the University of Ulster DUP association, and to become active in changing what has become a stagnant student political setting. We aim to reassure unionists that they have a voice at their place of education. We will be clearly visible on campus during freshers week, in particular on freshers day, so we encourage participation in the association.
